Quirky, charming, Tropicalia-influenced Brazilian pop music. I adore AFE and will be picking up every single album they release, as it is released. One of my favorite new-ish artists. Todd Leiter-Weintraub
Never mind that it's in Portuguese, or that I know nothing of the Brazilian music scene--this album is brimming with music that is just too exciting to ignore. In Tres, Nassif and friends have put together a feast for the ears, employing exemplary musicianship and, wild arrangements, catchy songwriting, and palpably honest emotion. The use of such an extensive musical arsenal doesn't make this work an easily digestible listen. But boy oh boy, is it so much fun. dirtydanmusic
