FUOGN é o primeiro lançamento de um novo trio formado por Charlotte Hug, Thomas Rohrer e Philip Somervell, que será lançado em 24 de junho de 2021.
Em uma parada em São Paulo durante uma turnê em 2019, Charlotte Hug se juntou a Thomas Rohrer e Philip Somervell no estúdio de gravação da Associação Cultural Cachuera para criar este encontro afinado de energia sutil, cuja gravação é agora o 52° lançamento do selo carioca QTV.
Rohrer e Somervell tem se encontrado para tocar e trabalhar semanalmente desde 2014. Seus lançamentos conjuntos - rohrer / somervell (2016), 45'29'' (2017), phoneuma (2018) e lixo ideológico (2019) mostram uma riqueza de investigação, modificação e amplificação do saxofone soprano, rabeca, pianos preparados, órgão de tubos, eletrônicos de baixa tecnologia e espaços ressonantes.
Charlotte Hug é uma violista, artista vocal, performer-compositora e artista visual (uma das peças de sua série "Son-Icons" é a capa deste album) com um histórico de produção gravada de 23 anos que inclui lançamentos com a London Improvisors Orchestra, o Stellari String Quartet, John Russell, Elliot Sharp, Maggie Nicols, Frederic Blondy e muitos mais. Seu trabalho com som e processo produz traduções visíveis e audíveis de escalas de tempo, dramaturgias e sequências de, por exemplo, as marés do Atlântico, a geleira Rhône e o plâncton Daphnia Magna.

FUOGN is the first release of a new trio formed of Charlotte Hug, Thomas Rohrer and Philip Somervell, released as a digital release on 24th June, 2021.
During a tour stop in São Paulo, in 2019, Hug joined Rohrer and Somervell at Associação Cultural Cachuera’s recording studio to produce this fine-tuned and simmering encounter of subtle energy, the recording of which is now Rio label QTV’s 52nd release.
Rohrer and Somervell have met to play music and work through ideas weekly since 2014. Their joint releases - rohrer/somervell (2016), 45’29’’ (2017), phoneuma (2018) and lixo ideológico (2019) have charted a wealth of investigation, modification and amplification of the soprano saxophone, rabeca, prepared pianos, pipe organ, low technology electronics and resonant spaces.
Charlotte Hug is a violist, vocal artist, performer-composer and visual artist (one of hers "Son-Icons" pieces is the cover of this album) with a recorded output stretching back 23 years and including releases with the London Improvisors Orchestra, the Stellari String Quartet, John Russell, Elliot Sharp, Maggie Nicols, Frederic Blondy and many more. Her work with sound and process renders visible and audible translations of the timescales, dramaturgies, and sequences of, for example, the Atlantic tides, the Rhône glacier and Daphnia Magna plankton.
